Usually, all the configuration procedures of an addressable system are complicated, however, an overly complex procedure can cause disadvantages to the professionals in terms of time, so much so that it could even discourage them from using a certain system to prefer another.
On the other hand, an oversimplified one can expose to the risk of errors and malfunctions, just think of the usual self-learning function that can create more damage than anything else if the wiring is not carried out properly.
That is why the configuration of the system is a very important aspect to take into account when choosing an addressable fire-fighting system.
But then what kind of configuration is good to prefer so as not to find yourself in an overly complicated procedure and at the same time that it is safe?
For our FireFocus system we have devised 3 different configuration procedures that you can use based on the characteristics of the system or your installation habits.
- For small / medium plants or extensions, we suggest addressing by activation.
With this procedure the loop is put in activation mode, then it will be necessary to place the magnet supplied near the sensors and buttons, which stimulates the reed present inside, for the I/O modules it will instead be necessary to press the appropriate button.
In both cases, the acquisition of the address and the number is signaled by a strong flash and the display of the control unit.
This procedure is particularly useful because it can also be performed by a single person, it is fast and very safe.
- For larger systems or systems where some points may be difficult to reach (height, false ceilings, etc.) the preset address mode is indicated.
In this way, the points are addressed through the control unit or the appropriate programmer before installation.
The routing takes place comfortably on the bench, so any problems of inaccessible points are solved and it is ideal for larger plants because it is faster and does not force the magnet to be manually passed one by one, for this reason it is suitable for larger plants.
- Another procedure is the smart self-addressing by sequential installation of the product.
In this case, no point is yet installed on the loop, we proceed with the installation of the first point that acquires the address and automatically becomes the number 1, the next becomes the number 2 and so on automatically.
This procedure is super simple, intelligent and safe anda can also be used when replacing or adding a point.
In case of replacement, simply delete the address of the affected point and simply install the new device, which will automatically take the replaced address and number.
